BCCI’s Nominates MS Dhoni for Padma Bhushan award

The third highest civilian award in the Indian history is the Padma Bhushan. The BCCI has announced recently Mahendra Singh Dhoni for the Padma Bhushan award. Mahendra Singh Dhoni is already received some of the respected awards like Arjuna, Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna. The Padma Bhushan award has already received by Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev, Sunil Gavaskar, Rahul Dravid, Chandu Borde, Prof DB Deodhar, Col CK Nayudu, and Lala Amarnath.

If Mahendra Singh Dhoni received the most prestigious award then he will be 11th Indian cricketer who deserved the award. The BCCI confirmed that they have sent only one person name for the  Padma Bhushan.

As a wicketkeeper, MS Dhoni is having total 584 catches to his name. He took 256 catches in Test matches and 285 in ODIs while 43 in T20 matches.

MS Dhoni has played 302 ODI matches and scored 9737 runs. While in played  90 Test matches, he has scored total 4876 runs. In the Twenty 20 formate of cricket, he has scored total 1212 runs 78 runs. He is having 16 international hundreds including 6 test and 10 in ODI hundreds. Recently he has accomplished his 100th One day half century.

BCCI acting president, CK Khanna said,”Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been nominated by the BCCI for the Padma Bhushan award. It was a unanimous decision by the members. He has been one of the greatest names in contemporary cricket and the most appropriate choice of the Indian cricket board”

MS Dhoni deserves the  Padma Bhushan award because he is the only one Indian captain, Under his captaincy, Indian team lifted two World titles, ICC World Cup in the year 2011 and ICC T20 Cup in 2007. Therefore BCCI did not think too much to nominate MS Dhoni for the most respected award in India.
