Overtaking Washim Akram, Harbhajan Singh becomes 9th highest wicket taker in Test Cricket

Leaving behind Pakistan’s legendary bowler Wasim Akram, Harbhajan Singh has clinched the 9th position among the highest wicket-takers in world Test Cricket. It was on June 14 against Bangladesh when he dismissed Imrul Kayes at 72 when he reached 415 Test Wickets, just one more than Wasim Akram. Later he took one more to finish it with 416 wickets.

Harbhajan Singh took 102 Test matches to reach the mark of 415 wickets, while Akram took 104 matches to get at 414 wickets. Harbhajan Singh is the the only active bowler among the top ten Test wicket-takers in world cricket history.

Harbhajan Singh now stands only 20 wickets away from Kapil Dev’s 434 Test wickets among Indian cricketers. Harbhajan Singh is the Third Indian blower to get into this elite group of top 10 Test wicket-takers in world cricket history.
