Former Pakistan all-rounder Anwar Ali has been appointed head coach of Chicago Kingsmen for the 2026 Minor League Cricket (MiLC) season.
The franchise, based in the United States, competes in Minor League Cricket and has been part of the tournament since its launch in 2020.
Anwar’s appointment was shared by the franchise on its social media platforms.
“From champion player to head coach, the game looks different now. Anwar Ali takes charge as Head Coach of Chicago Kingsmen for Minor League Cricket 2026,” the team wrote in the caption accompanying the announcement.
The upcoming season of MiLC will be played from September 17 to 27, while the playoffs and championship final are scheduled to take place from October 21 to 25.

Anwar brought significant experience to the role, having represented Pakistan at the international level and played in multiple domestic and franchise leagues. His appointment came as the team looked to strengthen its coaching setup ahead of the new season.
Anwar Ali has appeared in 22 ODIs and 16 T20Is for Pakistan at the international level. In the 50-over format, he has scored 321 runs and taken 18 wickets, while in T20Is he has scored 109 runs and taken 10 wickets for the Green Shirts.
Beyond international cricket, the 38-year-old also played in franchise leagues, featuring in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Lanka Premier League (LPL) and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL).
