RIYADH: Pakistan’s star javelin thrower Arshad Nadeem has clinched a gold medal at the Islamic Solidarity Games in men’s javelin, adding another highlight to his illustrious career here at the Prince Faisal Bin Fahad Stadium on Wednesday.

Nadeem started steadily in the final by registering a throw of 75.44 metres, which helped him to top the chart in the standings.

Pakistani star athlete secured the gold with an 83.05m throw in his second attempt. Following up with an 82.48m throw in the third round.

His fourth attempt was for a 77.06m effort, while his fifth was a foul. He wrapped up his campaign with a 77.98m throw.

Meanwhile, another Pakistani rising star, Muhammad Yasir Sutlan, bagged a silver with a 74.43 metres throw. In contrast, Nigeria’s Samuel Kure finished his journey with a bronze medal with 75.46m.

Pakistan totally dominated the show in Saudi Arabia. Arshad Nadeem was the only one to cross the 80-metre mark. Yasir Sultan was the second-best thrower with a 76.04m throw.

Final Results:

Arshad Nadeem – 83.05m
Samuel Kure – 75.46m
Yasir Sultan – 74.43m

Earlier, Pakistan also showcased brilliance in boxing, with Qudrat Ullah and Fatima Zahra winning bronze medals.

Qudrat was defeated in the semi-final of the men’s 55kg boxing event by Egypt’s Amir Mohamed Farag Ahmed Kelany. 19-year-old Fatima was also defeated by an Egyptian opponent.

Besides this, Pakistan’s Arusha Saeed also succeeded in bagging a bronze medal in the women’s 57kg Kurash event.

For the unversed, the 6th Islamic Solidarity Games, which started on November 7, 2025, will conclude on November 21. The event features athletes from across the Muslim world competing in a range of sports.
