BAKU: Pakistani kickboxer Agha Kaleem delivered a commanding performance to win a gold medal at the Professional boxing championship held in Azerbaijan, knocking out India’s Visal Ravi in a stunning display of power and precision.
Competing in the 52kg weight category, Agha Kaleem knocked out his Indian opponent within moments of the fight beginning, securing a swift victory and eliminating India from medal contention.
Following the match, Agha Kaleem credited his victory to his mother’s prayers. He also lamented the lack of sponsorship and government support behind his victory.
“No one sponsored me. I came to Azerbaijan on my own expenses and raised Pakistan’s flag,” — Agha Kaleemullah.
“This win is the result of my mother’s prayers. With proper sponsorship, I can bring even bigger titles home for Pakistan!”, he said.
Agha Kaleem is a professional kickboxer whose accomplishments have gained recognition from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) through its ‘Hamaray Heroes’ initiative, which celebrates individuals making significant contributions to various fields in Pakistan.

Originally from Quetta, Agha currently lives in Baldia Town, Karachi. Despite his achievements on the international stage, he has spent many years selling parathas and tea at a roadside stall to make ends meet.

In terms of his athletic success, Agha is a two-time national champion, winning titles in 2021 and 2023. He is also a four-time international champion, having claimed the Asian title on two occasions, in 2022 and 2025. Additionally, he secured Bronze medals twice in 2024 and won a world silver medal once.
Agha’s fortunes began to change in 2023, thanks to the support he received from singer Ali Zafar and former cricket captain Shahid Afridi, who encouraged him during his quest to win the International MMA Championship last year.
Agha shared his victory on social media, stating, “Alhamdulillah, I won the international MMA championship,” while tagging Zafar. In response, Zafar expressed his pride, saying, “Amazing! Believed in you all the way. So proud.”
With another medal to add to his collection and a record-breaking knockout, Agha Kaleem is quickly becoming a symbol of perseverance and determination in Pakistan—a true fighter in every sense.
