Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Haris has joined Guyana Amazon Warriors for the remaining matches of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2026 after replacing Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz.
Gurbaz is leaving the tournament to join his national side for the upcoming T20I series against India starting September 13. Haris returns to the franchise at a crucial stage as the team has already secured a place in the playoffs.
The Afghan batter played an important role for Warriors earlier in the tournament, scoring 93 runs in two innings. His performances included a half-century and a quick 39, helping the team maintain a strong position in the competition. However, his departure for international duty has forced the franchise to make immediate changes to the squad.
Mohammad Haris is not new to the setup, as he represented Warriors during the Global Super League (GSL) earlier this year. His familiarity with the team environment and conditions is expected to help him settle quickly. Management sees his inclusion as a positive move ahead of the knockout stage.

Overall, Mohammad Haris has represented Pakistan in 35 T20Is, scoring 555 runs at an average of 17.34, including a century.
The team also has multiple options to adjust the combination, including bringing Glenn Phillips back into the playing XI. Shai Hope can take over wicketkeeping responsibilities, while local batter Matthew Nandu remains another option for the opening role if required.
Meanwhile, Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi is also leaving the squad for national duty despite playing a key role in the team’s success.
Captain Imran Tahir praised his contribution, saying, “He’s been an absolute legend,” highlighting his impact with both ball and bat throughout the campaign.
Warriors now enter final phase of tournament with strong momentum, but changes in squad could test their balance in upcoming matches.
