BOSTON: John Cena added another historic milestone to his WWE legendary career on Monday Night RAW by getting rid of Dominik Mysterio and capturing the Intercontinental Championship for the first time.

Following the victory, Cena became the 25th Superstar in WWE history to win the prestigious Grand Slam, having held the WWE, Intercontinental, United States, and Tag Team Championships at least once in his career.

Mysterio started the match as the defending Intercontinental Champion, claiming the title at WrestleMania earlier this year and tried every trick in his bag to try to win the clash, including a submission attempt that was overlooked by the referee.

But John Cena, powered by experience and sheer determination, endured the onslaught and sparked a trademark comeback.

The decisive moment came when Mysterio went for his trademark Frog Splash, only for Cena to anticipate the move and counter with a spot on Attitude Adjustment that sealed the deal and sent the Boston crowd into an uproar.

This victory holds special meaning for Cena, as it was his first-ever Intercontinental title match on television.

His previous attempts were not televised, making Monday’s encounter a long-awaited and final chance as the 48-year-old legend nears the twilight of his career.

Before the match, Mysterio took verbal shots at Cena’s farewell tour, calling himself “the future” while branding John “the past.”

WWE executive Paul “Triple H” Levesque responded by making the bout official, giving fans a generational clash that concluded with an emotional and career-defining victory for one of wrestling’s all-time greats.

Cena has now joined an iconic list of Grand Slam Champions that includes the likes of Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, and Eddie Guerrero.
