The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has agreed to attend the Asian Cricket Council’s (ACC) annual general meeting virtually, according to Indian media reports on Wednesday.
The fate of the Asia Cup 2025 has been uncertain due to the tensions between India and Pakistan. Now, the matter could be solved at the ACC annual meeting, scheduled for Thursday in Dhaka, where Vice-President Rajeev Shukla will represent the BCCI through a video link.
Sri Lanka Cricket, however, has yet to decide whether it will attend the meeting in person or online. Along with Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Oman will also attend the meeting, while Nepal, like the BCCI, will participate virtually.
For the Asia Cup 2025, the hosting rights are held by the BCCI, despite the matches of the eight-team tournament being scheduled to be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in September.

It is noteworthy to mention that Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is hosting a high-level ACC meeting for the first time.
Meanwhile, Aminul Islam, President of the BCB, said that they are only providing logistical support to the ACC.
“We agreed with the ACC to organise this year’s AGM,” Aminul said on Tuesday.
“It is an ACC programme. We are providing them with logistical support. That’s all we are doing. We are in touch with the ACC, who is informing us who is coming and who is not, as we have to make arrangements for airport pick-ups, hotel bookings and other support.”
On Wednesday, Aminul and BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury welcomed PCB and ACC president Mohsin Naqvi at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
For the unversed, the BCCI was reluctant to attend the meeting, citing India’s prevailing geopolitical tensions with Bangladesh.
