Ex-Pakistan cricketer rips into Shadab over remarks on India defeat

Published on

Former Pakistan cricketer Basit Ali has slammed all-rounder Shadab Khan following his remarks on the defeat against India.

Basit, while speaking on ARY News, criticized Shadab and mentioned his father-in-law, Saqlain Mushtaq, a former Pakistan spinner and the inventor of Doosra.

“Shadab should not have made such remarks about his father -in-law, Saqlain Mushtaq.
Saqlain carried 10 bowlers in his pocket, just like Shadab Khan,” he remarked.

He also pointed out his performance, noting that he mainly performs against weaker teams.

The journalist have asked him, “What is your performance?” Basit said.

“Against weaker opposition like Namibia, he promotes himself up the batting order.
But in high-pressure matches against strong teams like India, he bowls just one over and gives 17 runs, ” Basit said.

Shadab Khan Remarks

“Criticism is not in our hands. Former cricketers have their own opinions. They were legends, but even they could not do what we have done. We have beaten India in a World Cup,” he told reporters.

He expressed confidence in Pakistan’s chances at the mega event, saying he is focused on the bigger picture and wants to win the trophy.

“There has been too much talk about one match. It was a big game and we should have won it. We made mistakes that should not have happened. But our goal is to win the World Cup, and we are following our process,” Shadab Khan added.

“We are on the right track. We need to continue the good things we have been doing. Our batting must carry on in the same way. Sahibzada Farhan is in good form,” Shadab said.

“The Super Eight will be difficult. These will be high-pressure matches.” “Ramadan has begun, and it will be like our 12th player,” he concluded.
